Frequently Asked Questions About Gazebos
What sizes are available?
With regards to a hexagonal shape, gazebos are available in four diameters - 7.5, 11, 14.5, and 18 feet. Also available are square shaped gazebos with 9 feet sides and rectangular gazebos, which measure 17 feet long and 9 feet wide.
Will the gazebo rust?
Given that the gazebo is constructed from cast aluminum and its hardware from stainless steel, it will not rust.
Will the gazebo need to be repainted or stained like a wooden gazebo?
No, our cast aluminum gazebos have been painted using a polyester powder coat paint, which is resistant to fading and peeling.
Is the fabric canopy similar to a patio umbrella top?
No, the gazebo's canopy is made from Sunbrella fabric, which is a heavyweight, awning grade solution dyed acrylic fabric. Each thread in teh canopy is dyed before it is woven into the fabric top whereas a patio umbrella top is usually a print fabric. Print fabrics are blank fabrics that have color printed onto them. Given how the patio umbrella is manufactured, it will eventually fade and lose its water repellant properties.
Will the gazebo move in a strong wind?
No, the gazebo will not move in a strong wind for several reasons. Considering that the gazebo's canopy has a wind vent, strong wind pressure is released. In addition, the gazebo is anchored at six vertical posts to a secure base, such as interlocking stone, concerete, wood, or patio paving stones. Lastly, the gazebo's heavy weight (approximately 325lbs for the 11 foot model) makes it sturdy and resistant against strong winds.
Does the gazebo purchase include the fabric canopy?
Yes, the purchase of the gazebo includes the fabric canopy as well as the cast aluminum frame and all the necessary hardware. Your only additional expense will be the purchasing of the screws required to fasten the gazebo posts to a secure base.
Can I move the gazebo after it has been assembled?
Yes, by disassembling the gazebo and moving the pieces and then reassembling it at a new location, the gazebo can be moved to a new location.
I live in a snowy area, should I take down the gazebo in the winter?
It is not necessary; however, it is advised to remove the canopy from the gazebo in order to prevent damage from the weight of the snow. It will only take ten minutes to remove the canopy.
I want to make a walkway through the gazebo, how can I do this?
Since the hexagonal shaped gazebos come complete with five fixed sides, there is one opening. In order to place a walkway through the gazebo, decide where you would like the openings and fasten the sides in accordance with your design.
Are bug screens or other types of screening options available?
Bug screens are available for all gazebo models. In addition, we also offer full and half height sun screens, wind screens, and privacy screens.
What is the warranty on the gazebo?
The gazebo's cast aluminum structure has a warranty of ten years with us. The canopy's warranty is covered by Sunbrella for five years.
How much more expensive is a Patio Passport gazebo than a wooden gazebo?
Suprisingly, our cast aluminum gazebos are approximately 30% to 50% less expensive than a similar sized cedar or redwood gazebo.
Why would anyone buy a wooden gazebo?
